Femina Madre Collection

This latest collection called "Femina Madre", is inspired by my mother who sadly passed away 2 years ago. This collection was unveiled in October 2023 at Africa Fashion Week London 2023. With the Femina Madre collection, I wanted to capture my Mum's essence and spirit, which was kind, light and free. She lit up the room wherever she was. She was a strong woman, but also very feminine, warm and kind. I decided on free flowing designs in this collection to portray her free spirit and with a play on soft feminine colour prints to portray the awesome light that she carried. For the prints used to create the fabric, I digitally designed some, while the others were paintings I did using a paint brush and some acrylic paint on a paint pad. I felt her presence as I remembered her motherly love while I immersed myself in my painting exercise to create this art. I was blessed by and I'm who I am today because of my mother's love, so Femina Madre is a tribute to my mother Margaret Saibu."

The visual elements of line, shape, tone and colour are the building blocks of composition in art. Lines interact to form shapes and shapes are filled with colour and tone, or repeated to create pattern. Different elements that make up art can express qualities such as movement and rhythm, harmony and contrast and a wide range of emotion. The designs in the Lines & Colours collection were inspired by different moods, emotions and abstract images that are expressed using fabric. The lines are bold, the colours are vibrant and the designs are structured, purposefully to appeal to both young ladies and mature women who are bold, vibrant and confident in their femininity.

The Black Collection - Archived

We introduced the brand, first to the African market, in 2010 by unveiling its premiere collection, "The Black Collection". Pieces from the collection were put together using black satin, black taffeta, and high quality African print fabric. Black was chosen as the central theme for the first collection because black is a conservative colour associated with sophistication. Simeogieme chose to introduce the brand with this theme as it echoes the brands ethos which is "Simplicity, Sensuality & Sophistication.

Playcut Collection - Archived

Maintaining the ethos of simplicity, sensuality and sophistication, this collection was playfully designed, making "cut outs" and "uneven cuts" the main expression. This collection was inspired by and designed at a time when Simeogieme found serenity in chaos and order in disorder.
